Milestone advances Best Jets toward final FAA approval for Part 121 supplemental operations and expanded Embraer E170 charter service
ST. PAUL, MN, UNITED STATES, August 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Best Jets International announced today that it successfully completed the required Federal Aviation Administration proving runs for its planned Part 121 supplemental operations on August 6, 2026, marking a major milestone in the company’s expansion into higher-capacity charter operations.
FAA proving runs are an important component of the certification process, allowing the FAA to evaluate an operator’s personnel, aircraft, procedures, maintenance programs, and operational systems under actual flight conditions. With the proving runs successfully completed, Best Jets expects final FAA approval for Part 121 supplemental operations within approximately three weeks, subject to completion of the agency’s remaining review and administrative requirements.
“I am incredibly proud of our team for the hard work, dedication, and passion they have brought to the Part 121 supplemental certification process,” said Larry Gregg, Executive Vice President of Best Jets International. “This achievement represents an exciting step forward for Best Jets and will allow us to significantly expand our charter footprint in the Part 121 market while continuing to deliver the safety, service, and responsiveness our customers expect.”
Best Jets is preparing a fleet of four Embraer E170 aircraft:
• Two 30-passenger Embraer E170 aircraft
• Two 60-passenger Embraer E170 aircraft
• All four aircraft are expected to complete their required conformity inspections by November 1, 2026
Upon receiving final FAA approval for Part 121 supplemental operations, Best Jets will operate under both Part 121 and Part 135, enabling the company to serve customers across a broader range of aircraft sizes and charter missions.
Best Jets plans to provide expanded charter services for corporations, professional sports teams, college athletic programs, music and entertainment groups, VIP travelers, and other organizations requiring customized group air transportation.
The company will also expand its corporate shuttle programs to serve organizations with recurring workforce and business travel needs, including those in oil and gas, financial services, manufacturing, retail, and banking, as well as government agencies.
The Embraer E170 fleet complements Best Jets International’s established private jet fleet, which includes midsize, super-midsize, and long-range aircraft, expanding the company’s ability to accommodate a wider range of passenger needs and charter missions.
This next phase of growth strengthens Best Jets International’s position as a full-service private aviation and charter operator, supporting both traditional private charter and higher-capacity travel while preserving its longstanding standards for safety, reliability, and attentive service.
