IMR’s 97th Ukraine relief mission continues more than four years of humanitarian assistance and steadfast support for displaced Ukrainian families
WARSAW, POLAND, September 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, visited IMR in Warsaw to recognize International Medical Relief (IMR) for its continued humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians living in Poland.
During the visit, Ambassador Bodnar met with IMR volunteers and translators and presented certificates of appreciation recognizing their service to the Ukrainian people.
“This day is a reminder of humanity, solidarity and mutual support—especially when it is needed most,” said Ambassador Bodnar.
For more than four years, IMR volunteers have continued to serve Ukrainians displaced by Russia’s invasion. Working alongside translators and community partners, IMR volunteers provide guidance, care, hope, and free gifts to aid their ongoing needs.
In addition to the care, IMR teams distribute essential education supplies, reading glasses, hygiene products and other critically needed supplies. Children visiting the clinics also receive toys and comfort items brought by IMR volunteers.
Ambassador Bodnar also expressed special gratitude to Archpriest Serhii Sirenko, Head of the Chaplaincy Mission of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Warsaw, for providing spiritual care and steadfast support to Ukrainians and for his tireless work to preserve the spiritual and national identity of the Ukrainian community.
The current deployment marks IMR’s 97th Ukraine relief mission. It has been 1,658 days since the war began on February 24, 2022, and International Medical Relief has remained steadfast in its commitment to serve the Ukrainian people from the beginning.
