Acely Launches Parent Portal as New Data Shows Link Between Parent Engagement and Higher SAT Scores

New tools allow parents to track their students’ test prep progress and partner together to achieve better outcomes.
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Acely, an edtech company combining expert-crafted test prep with adaptive, personalized study plans, today announced the launch of Parent Portal, a new suite of tools designed to help parents stay informed and engaged throughout their student’s SAT and ACT preparation.
Parent Portal gives families a centralized way to manage the test prep experience. Parents can create their own Acely account, invite their student to connect, and manage billing independently. Once connected, parents can view an activity feed showing when their student completes study sessions or full-length practice tests so they can get an up to date view of their student’s progress.
Acely’s data shows a strong association between parent engagement and student outcomes. In an analysis of thousands of Acely accounts, students with a linked parent account had an average SAT score 80 points higher than students without a linked parent account. Acely also found that students with linked parent accounts are more efficient with their studying so they are able to improve their scores more in less time than their peers without parents involved.
“We’ve heard loud and clear from students that they are often looking to their parents to help keep them on track when they lose motivation or energy. When parents are involved in the test preparation process, students can feel more confident and supported,” said Meghann Lomas, Chief Product Officer at Acely. “We built Parent Portal to make it easier for students and parents to work together without adding pressure to the process. By giving families the visibility into progress that they’ve requested, we can help students stay focused on what matters and make the most of the time they have to prepare.”
Parent Portal provides parents with visibility into key aspects of a student’s preparation, including how frequently they are studying and the types of content they are completing, from individual practice questions to full-length practice tests. Rather than relying on periodic updates from their students, parents can see progress as it happens, creating opportunities for more informed conversations and support throughout the preparation process.
The launch of Parent Portal reflects Acely’s broader focus on making high-quality test preparation more accessible, personalized and effective for students and families. Acely combines a large library of expert-crafted practice content with adaptive study plans and an AI tutor to help students prepare around their individual needs and goals. Parent Portal is available to Acely students and their families beginning today. Sign up at acely.com.
