BANGKOK, THAILAND, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ —
• 59,468 attendees from over 150 countries convened in Bangkok for the world’s largest natural gas and LNG gathering this year, marking record attendance for Gastech.
• An estimated US$40 billion in memoranda of understanding, supply agreements and investment commitments reinforced Gastech’s role as a global centre for energy dealmaking, where leaders secure supply, mobilise capital and advance the projects needed for future growth.
• After four days of commercial action and strategic dialogue, Gastech now heads to Houston from 14-17 September 2027, carrying forward the momentum generated in Bangkok.
Gastech 2026 concluded in Bangkok with record attendance and an estimated US$40 billion in energy deals announced or progressed, turning four days of global industry engagement into commercial outcomes that will support future energy supply, infrastructure development and investment across international markets.
59,468 attendees from over 150 countries came together across the event. Producers, buyers, governments, investors, technology leaders and infrastructure providers used Gastech’s international reach to secure long-term supply, mobilise capital and advance the projects required to meet rising energy demand and support economic growth.
The outcomes extend far beyond individual commercial agreements. They will influence how energy is delivered to the markets driving global growth, where new capacity is built and how quickly emerging and developed economies can respond to expanding electricity demand, industrial transformation and the growth of AI infrastructure.
Landmark agreements announced or progressed at Gastech 2026 included a 20-year sales and purchase agreement between China Gas Holdings and Venture Global LNG for 0.5 million tonnes per annum of US LNG from 2030. GE Vernova and B.Grimm Power signed agreements covering natural gas turbine supply and long-term services, supporting new and existing power-generation capacity in Malaysia and Thailand. PETRONAS, PTTEP JDA and the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority also formalised a 35-year production-sharing contract and natural gas sales agreement, delivering new natural gas supply to both countries.
These agreements demonstrate the value of bringing the leaders who shape policy, deploy capital, develop technology and deliver infrastructure together in one place. With more than 20 global energy ministers and CEOs from companies including Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, PTT, EGAT, Eni, PETRONAS and TotalEnergies in attendance, Gastech reinforced its position at the centre of international energy dealmaking and industry growth.
The final day also brought Gastech’s Strategic Conference to a close, concluding four days of discussion on how the industry can respond to the unprecedented scale and complexity of global energy demand. Ministers, CEOs, policymakers, investors and technology leaders examined the policy environment, infrastructure priorities and investment strategies required to support growing populations and evolving economies. The Co-Chairs of Gastech’s Governing Body closed the programme by reflecting on four days of agreements, debate and innovation.
Anne-Sophie Corbeau, Global Research Scholar, Columbia Center on Global Energy Policy, highlighted the value of the conversations and connections advanced during Gastech 2026: “There has been a lot of excitement among energy suppliers this year. They see a new window of opportunity. I listened to the Prime Minister of Thailand’s speech, and he talked a lot about energy security, electrification, and sustainability. These were the conversations that shaped this year’s Gastech.”
Beyond its impact on the global energy industry, Gastech 2026 has left a lasting impact on Bangkok itself. The event’s scale has brought significant economic growth to the city, driving activity across its tourism and business sectors and reinforcing Thailand’s position as a premier destination for global business and tourism. Working closely with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Gastech 2026 united the city around a shared moment of opportunity, one that mirrors the ambition driving the industry it hosted: to convert collaboration into long-term and resilient economic growth.
Reflecting on the event’s essential role as a convening point for the global energy industry, Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, said: “Gastech 2026 in Bangkok has underlined the extraordinary value of collaboration, drawing together the world’s energy leaders to turn ambition into action. The agreements and ideas that have emerged here will not only deliver lasting value for the energy sector, they will also uplift the people, communities and regions that rely on this critical industry for energy security, stability and economic opportunity.”
As attendees depart Gastech 2026, the focus now turns to Houston for 2027, where the event will convene global energy leaders in one of the industry’s most important hubs for natural gas, LNG and global energy growth. From 14–17 September, Gastech 2027 will advance the partnerships and investments needed to turn the United States’ energy strength into greater supply security and economic progress for markets around the world.
